Lk 9:18-22

In yesterday’s Gospel, there is great curiosity about Jesus, particularly on the part of Herod. Today, Jesus asks who people think he is. Once answered he asks who they think he is to which Peter confesses that he is the Christ. He goes on to tell them that he is not the king they expect. He predicts for the first time the rejection and suffering that he will endure.

If only people realized who you are to them and who they are to you. I don’t fully comprehend this but by faith know that you lead me by your holy light.
